GT BMX was founded in 1972 by Gary Turner and Richard Long in Santa Ana, California. It all began when Turner, a professional drag racer and skilled welder, built a lightweight and durable BMX frame for his son using 4130 chromoly tubing. This innovation quickly gained attention at BMX tracks, leading to the creation of GT Bicycles. Known for their high-quality frames and iconic designs like the triple triangle. GT became a major player in BMX racing and freestyle, sponsoring top riders and shaping the sport's evolution.
