Bully BMX was founded in 1989 by R.L. Osborn, a professional BMX rider and innovator in the freestyle scene. The brand quickly gained popularity for its unique designs, including frames with integrated bashguards and bold two-tone paint jobs. Bully bikes were known for their edgy image and were embraced by riders who wanted a street-style aesthetic.

The company sponsored influential riders like Mike Dominguez, Simon Tabron, and Vic Murphy, further cementing its place in BMX culture. Despite its initial success, Bully BMX faced challenges with the durability of its frames and eventually waned in popularity. In 1993, the brand was sold to Custom Cycle/MCS, and later, its pre-1995 designs were acquired by Immortis Bike Company in 2010.
